The Ministry of Finance has reopened a 5-year GS issue at a weighted average yield of -0.10%

On 22 March 2021, the Ministry of Finance reopened an issue of 5-year BGN-denominated Government Securities (GS) maturing on 24.02.2026.
The auction resulted in successful placement of Government Securities with an aggregate nominal value of BGN 300 million, at an annual weighted average yield of -0.10%.
The subscribed amount totalled BGN 458.5 million, which corresponds to a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.53. The recorded spread to the analogous German Bunds is 54 basis points. The participants showed strong interest; banks acquired the biggest amount of GS at the auction – 89,3%, followed by pension funds – 6,7%, insurance companies – 0,7%, and other investors – 3,3%.
