Valery Beltchev

Education:

Valery Beltchev has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from Paris 2 Pantheon-Assas University and a PhD from the University of National and World Economy focusing on banking regulations. 

Professional experience:

He has gained his professional experience by working for a number of leading commercial banks, such as CCF HSBC, Credit Agricole Indosuez, Fortis Bank and Societe Generale. In 2007 he establishes a strategic partnership with Rothschild & Cie and becomes their exclusive partner in Bulgaria until 2013, which shifts his professional career to the investment business.

In 2015, in his capacity of CEO and chair of the Managing Board, he takes part in the establishment of the Fund Manager of Financial Instruments in Bulgaria EAD (Fund of Funds) which is part of the system of the Ministry of Finance.

He is fluent in English, French, Russian and Italian.

He held the position of Minister of Finance from 15 September 2021 to 13 December 2021 during the second cabinet of Stefan Yanev.
