Accessibility policy

Declaration of accessibility

The Ministry of Finance is committed to keeping its web page accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of the technologies they use and their skills. We are actively working to improve the accessibility and usability of our web page and for this purpose we adhere to the existing standards and good practices.

In order to meet the accessibility level requirements and criteria laid down by the European Commission in relation to the web pages of the public administration and at the same time to fulfil the requirements of the current internet technologies, we will adhere to the standards of WCAG 2.0.

Web Accessibility Initiative

The web page of the Ministry of Finance will strive to cover a level of accessibility according to the most recent standards of World Wide Web Consortium - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0), using the best practices and technologies.

WCAG 2.0 explains how the content of the web pages is to be made more accessible to persons with disabilities. The implementation of the Guidelines will help more people to feel convenient and to benefit from the advantages of internet.

W3C Standards

The web page of the Ministry of Finance has been built using a code compliant with W3C standards for XHTML and CSS. The web page displays correctly in currently available browsers and its use ensures compatibility with any future browsers, either new or upgraded.

Whilst we strive to ensure compliance with the existing accessibility standards this is not always possible in each and every aspect. The browsers and the techniques for internet development and access develop very quickly and sometimes certain standard accessibility requirements become obsolete. In the light of the above, we constantly modernise the web page of the Ministry of Finance in order to achieve high standards of accessibility and usability of its content.

In connection with the forthcoming change in the legal framework related to the transposition of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, the website of the Ministry of Finance will be changed in view to adapting it to the needs of persons with disabilities, too.
