Direct investment certificate
Ministry of Finance issues Certificates to foreign persons who have made direct investments, as owners of or partners in companies, registered on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, in accordance with the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act and the Regulations on the implementation of the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act.
In order to obtain this Certificate the foreign person has to present the following documents to the Ministry of Finance:
For long-term residence permit:

Application - free wording;

In case the companies are registered before January 2008 - a copy of all legal documents certifying that the company is duly registered in Bulgaria, a copy of the document issued by the court to certify the actual legal status of the company and a copy of BULSTAT;

In case the companies are registered after January 2008 - a certificate issued by the Registry Agency;

A copy of the document certifying the actual status of the company;

A copy of the Articles of Agreement of the company;

A bank document certifying that the foreign person applying for the certificate has transferred the money from abroad (SWIFT);

A document from the commercial bank in Bulgaria certifying that the transfer of the money for the direct investment has been made;

In case the Application is presented by an authorized person - a copy of the Letter of Attorney;

Other documents certifying that the direct investment has been made.
For permanent residence permit:

Application - free wording;

In case the companies are registered before January 2008 - a copy of all legal documents certifying that the company is duly registered in Bulgaria, a copy of the document issued by the court to certify the actual legal status of the company and a copy of BULSTAT;

In case the companies are registered after January 2008 - a certificate issued by the Registry Agency;

A copy of the document certifying the actual status of the company;

A copy of the Constituent agreement of the trade company;

A bank document certifying that the foreign person applying for the certificate has transferred the money from abroad (SWIFT);

A document from the commercial bank in Bulgaria certifying that the transfer of the money for the direct investment has been made;

A copy of the Balance Sheet and of the Income Statement of the company;

In case of a joint-stock company - a copy of the shareholder book of the company;

In case the Application is presented by an authorized person - a copy of the Letter of Attorney;

Other documents certifying that the direct investment has been made.
The direct investment certificate is issued by the External Finance Directorate, Foreign Currency Department, in accordance with the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act and the Regulations on the implementation of the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act.
Such certificate is issued to certify that the foreign person has made direct investment. It has to be submitted to the Migration Directorate at the Ministry of Interior for the person to obtain long-term residence or permanent residence permit.
